GNI for telecom services planning and automation

Hi
I am using GNI planner for my research thesis i have certain questions regarding this:
a) Is it that efficient that if i provide existing network then based on existing it provides automation that where to provide new facility(we are getting new requests from customers) ?
b) How can i use it for getting cost effective minimum paths for network?
Plese let me know these things ASAP

Yes, you can use existing network to plan new nodes.

GniPlannerFTTH always chooses the shortest paths. You can choose to optimize total length of planned network in step 3 by lowering "Path sharing factor" argument.
In next version, it will be possible to select route line cost field which will be used to calculate path cost.
