stupid question: how do you create a new work context?

You can create a new work context using the 'New' button in WorkContextTracer dialog described in "GNI_Short User Guide for FTTx Planner.pdf" chapter 5.

I cannot see a "New" button within the Work Context tool bar. See screenshot below. When I click on the clip board icon within the Work Context toolbar, the error: "Work Context layer is missing" error is generated, which is also shown in the screenshot below.
I'm running this within a clean install, windows 7 32bit. I'm trying to create a new project from the start.

You have to open the plannerFtth.qgs project first. There are configured all required layers in this project.

Yes, it's a configuration file where you can create completely new projects.
