the wizard results are stored to the temp folders only. (see attached screen shot) For this they are not available when the project is reopened later.
The planning results are not persistent.
How can this be changed?

In the GNI Free version it is not available to automatically save layers from particular steps of the Planner FTTH. But you can save a layer by right-clicking on it in the Layers Panel and select Save as.
